Keep Working It You Will Be Find

I was listening to a minister this morning and he was talking about something I was pondering inside of myself. How you must hold your peace at times when others are constantly putting you down concerning ideas or direction that God is leading you. But you are suppose to embrace there goals and ideas because they are who they are and there word is concrete.

I am so glad that I know that I know who my Father is, and not allow people to judge me for my pass. But I look to God who is the finisher of my life and the joy of my salvation. I am content where God has my life at this time. I have learn to rely on God's promises and Christ's power to help me to stay content and in His will.

I am grateful for everything that God has blessed me with. We can trust that God will always meet our needs. We can be assured that even if it is the courage to face death when the time comes, He is with us.

Philippians 4:9, 13, and 19

The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do and the God of peace will be with you.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

No Mountain Is To High When God Is Leading The Way

Ecclesiates 3:11 (NIV) He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men: yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

As you begin the New Year I want to encourage you to increase your bible reading by one verse a day. Your commitment to starting off fresh each day with a word from God gives you a refreshing spiritual rejuvenation inside of you. It's a feeling that only the Holy Spirit can give you.

Let's make this year about "self". Take a deep look at yourself and re-examine this pass year to see what was it that you kept putting off, what could you have done better, or what is God telling you and you are still not being obedient to His word for your life. We all have something to reverse, correct, or complete while we still have the opportunity.

God gives us choices, he doesn't try to break your arm to make you do right; you have a free will. What do you want to do with your self? It's your "life"!

The New Year has so many possibilities for us to seek and God is just waiting to help. Let me know how you are doing.

Merry Christmas And A Happy New Year

Well God has brought us through another year with grace. As we look back over this year, it has been tough for many if not all of us in some way with the economy being what it is. But through it all God has seen that we have rose above our circumstances and overcame our challenges.

I could remind you of Jesus, who is the reason for the season but I suspect as christian you already know that. I could remind you of the many blessings to be thankful for that God answered. But you also know that and have given thanks to God way before today.

What I would like for you to do this holiday season is to give of your selves and be a blessing to someone else. I want you to pass God's goodness on to others. Examples of this; giving can food to the food banks so others may eat throughout the year. Donating used clothes to the men and women shelters. Volunteer by helping at soup kitchens and nursing homes to feed the needy and the elderly. If you really think about it I am sure you can think of your own act of kindness this holiday season and throughout the years to come. Jesus would be proud to call you His child of God.

Finally, I want each and every one of us to spend time with our families and give each other kisses and hugs. Let them know how much they are loved and needed in your life. If family is not near call them on the telephone, send flowers to your parents or grandparents. If you do not have family, reach out to that special person over this year that has been extra kind and given to you for no reason at all.

Remember that God puts special angels in our pathway to protect us, guide us, and nurture us along our journey of life.

May this Christmas bring you and your Family joy, love, peace and a prosperous New Year.

God Never Leaves Us

I have watched God answer some amazing prayers over the course of the last several years in the lives of family, friends, co-workers and people I have never met. Always in God's timing, but right on time. He has been there for me even when I was not aware of His presence, but most recently he has given me grace to still be here. I humble myself whenever I speak of the goodness of the Lord because it did not have to be.

Regardless of how, when, or where my father in heaven is in my time of need, he has never forsaken me and for this I am so graceful. God continues to open doors for me that I don't even see coming and closes doors that need to be sealed.

I do take my prayer time with God seriously, but I do admit I sometimes feel that I am rushing through my prayers because of my daily routine and God will understand. But he will also remind us that He comes first. Only God through prayer is able to meet the needs of many situations without me physically being in the presence of someone to hear what their needs may be.

God never leaves his children along; he is in there fighting the battle for us through those dark days of despair. My best gift from him is to stay obedient and lift up those that are crying out for his love and salvation. Sometimes praying to God can become overwhelming to me; there is so much pain and despair in the world that God needs his intercessors to constantly be praying for his people. I find myself stopping to pray right then and there while it is fresh in my mind. Your prayers do not always have to be long for God to understand what you are asking for on behalf of someone. When you don't know what to ask for, God will direct your path. Also, sometimes it is not what a person requests, but what the Holy Spirit really knows what that person is really in need of.

So as we begin the holiday season, remember to thank God for all he has done for you, through out this year. Love one another unconditionally, giving thanks for your many blessings and most of all giving of your self to be a blessing to others.

We Still Have Work To Do

Those of us that were born in the 40's, 50's, and 60's have or are now looking towards the years of new beginnings. You are reaching back into your past and bring out those dreams of yours that have been complacent. The gifts and ideas that have always lingered in the back of your mind waiting for you to birth them.

We must take personal courage and step out in faith because our age group has a wealthy of wisdom and knowledge to share. We often become fearful of being isolated, or being laughed at, ridiculed or rejected by family or our own peers. But I believe that we must get involved with some meaningful activity outside one's own normal routine of living. We must challenge ourselves to stay mentally and spiritually healthy by any means necessary. God is not through with us yet, he still has assignment for each of us to do in the earth.

As a whole seniors adults are a gracious and giving group of people. They love to serve others, expecting little or nothing in return. There joy comes from giving of their selves.

In the last days, God says, I will pour out my spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

Isaiah 40:29-31

This is a reminder to not forget your elderly neighbors in your church and community.

He Is The Source

I am at a place in my life where I can see what is meaningful and what is not. I can see what is important and what can wait. I can see God comes first in my life and all else falls into place. People think that you have to show them what you are doing in life, so they can see that you are worshipping God. I worship God for what he means to me, even if I am sitting on a park bench knitting. I am still in His presence. I can careless what the world thinks of me, I care what God thinks of me.

God sustains me, he's my rock, my comforter and my all in all in the middle of the night when all else fails me I know he's there no matter what. God is not just to worship on sunday morning service, he is the true God that we love and worship 24/7 all day every day. Each week day I see people in such a hurry to exit the train when it arrives at the station. They are running to catch the next trasit car or bus to get to their destination without regard for those trying to get to their destination also. We are so busy with our routine that we don't stop and smell the roses of life and look at what God has created in this universe. Or to just say good morning or offer to help someone along the way. I find myself talking to total strangers at times when I am least expected. When I am on the train, at a concert or just in the grocery store God will use me to add them to my prayer list. God puts people in your life to do His will, what do I mean, someone maybe having a bad morning and needs an encouraging word. Someone may need to laugh at something to take their mind off of a pressing issue.

I remember those hard knock days of distress and wondering which way was up. Thank God for a praying mother and grandmother who knew the Lord. We have all been there and continue to be at times as long as we are on this earth.

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort.

Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. 2 Corinthians 1: 3, 4.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come.

Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Roman 8: 38,39.

God Gives The Increase

God wants to see positive changes in us that make a permanent difference. So in order to continue to move forward we need revelation and not just information. The Holy Spirit will reveal things to you about yourself and your surroundings. The word of God will feed you the vita food for the nutriment for your body and mind. He alone can direct you through this maze called life.

I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless, nor forsake nor let [you] down, [relax my hold on you]. –Assuredly not (Heb 13:5, amp)

Season come and go in your life, that’s how you grow. The journey is to strengthen you and you have to enjoy the ride even the bumps and detours along the way. “It is all good”! If you always won then you would not need God. Remember, when ever God humbles you it’s not where you are, but it’s about your future. God is ready to send down floods of blessing upon us as we begin to obey His plain instructions.

We cannot imagine all that God has in store for us both in this life and for eternity. He will create a new heaven and a new earth (Isaiah 65:17, Revelation 21:1), and we will live with him forever. Until then, his Holy Spirit comforts and guides us. Knowing the wonderful and eternal future that awaits us given us hope and courage to press on in this life. We will have hardship, but through God’s word, we can avoid temptation. Remember this world is not all there is. The best is still to come.

Prayer: Father, I take comfort, encouragement, confident and boldly say that the Lord is my Helper. I will not fear, for what can man do to me? In the name of Jesus I am a strong and courageous person who does not turn to the right or the left. I thank you Father that you have given me a spirit of power, and of love, and of a calm and well-balanced mind, and self-control. I rejoice in Jesus who has come that I might have life and have it more abundantly. The fresh and new has come! I forget those things which are behind me and reach forth unto those things which are before me. I am like a tree firmly planted by the streams of water, ready to bring forth my fruit in my season; my leaf also shall not fade or wither, and everything I do shall prosper and come to maturity. AMEN!

Now thanks be to God, Who always causes me to triumph in Christ!

Focus on Your Potential and Not Your Limitations

You have to build confidence in yourself in order for you to overcome your insecurity. You need to focus on your strengths instead of your weaknesses. You and I cannot do everything the world does, but we can do everything that God has called us to do. To use our gifts and abilities, we must know in our spirit that we can be anything God says we can be.

Having gifts (faculties, talents, qualities) that differ according to the grace given us, let us use them… Roman 12:6

I have been learning to knit and crochet off and on for the last two years and most recently cardboard weaving. I surprise myself at times on what I am learning and the people God is putting in my path to teach me these crafts. I am meeting and making new friends and contacts along the way. I never knew what magnitude the industry has for personal homemade products until now. We have to realize our passion for something that God has given us, it’s not by chance, He has birth that gift in our spirit to be nurture, and created with His guidance.

I get frustrated and excited all in the same breath with what I am learning about this industry as well as my creative gifts from God. Sit down and write goals on a sheet of paper, mapping out how you are going to reach your potential and the tools you need to get there. Remember when we think we can’t accomplish something the Holy Spirit will direct your path and tell you yes you can. We will be so amazed at the outcome; and saying to ourselves, “sister girl” or “guy” got it going on. I can see you dancing around the room, praising the Lord for what he has done.

I do believe that God is telling us to get back to basics and find your creativeness in you. So get busy and let me know what your next move is or what you are already working on. Remember, there is no limit to what God can do.

Today's Times

The hardest thing for me is not rising in the morning, giving thanks to my Father for keeping me through the night, and saying my daily prayers. It’s staying at peace within one’s self to see another day through as a child of the Most High God. Living each day as a Christian takes love from God and humility from us.

We must constantly encourage one another in these tough times of uncertainty around the world. God is looking for each of us to step up to the plate and reach out with love and compassion. This world was given to all of us, not just for some of us.

Commit to not living like the world, but commit to what makes you come alive in God, is what the world needs. God is worth the perseverance’s, have the courage to endure until the end.

Sometimes I find myself so involved with praying for others that you can lose track of time with everything but God. I have special times with Him sitting in my car, waiting for the train to arrive in the morning, working at my desk or just before Him at the quietness of my own space. God is available to us at all times; we only need to connect to Him.

I keep telling people that we need to get back to the basics in the way we live each day of our lives. The way we were brought up with structure in the family, in our everyday lives. If you look around, this generation is hungry for a change because their way is not working. Our ancestors would never approve of the way our children are being raised. We need to be there 24/7 as parents and not allow our kids to totally raise their selves. What is wrong with America? Is it all about the latest gadget, the biggest house, stepping over the least of thee, or the most expensive car when your families are going by the waste side? We need to be setting the example of survival with what God has blessed us with; hard work, growing our own vegetable gardens or supporting the local farmer. Families need to help each other, make God the center of the home, and love each other by picking each other up when one of us falls.

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Act 16:31

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you. Ephesians 4:31, 32

One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God? 1Timothy 3:4,5

Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers. Proverbs 17:6

As the month of May begins, let us look to God for His goodness, His love, and above all His grace in our lives. Remember, what God has for each of us is there for the asking.

Take Time

Sometimes when you are under attach do you just feel like giving up, but instead you bust out laughing because you know the devil is trying to get you off track. You can see so clearly just how the enemy tries to get you off centered. We know who is in charge of our destiny, but we are still human beings.

I know God has something great for you and your families that’s why the enemy is trying to destroy families through any means necessary. God says to stand no matter what comes your way; he is fighting the battle for you. Let your daily light to others be a pathway to heaven.

Time waits for no one and tomorrow is not given to any of us no matter the age. Recently I came across fellow Christians that seem to be still stuck from when I saw them last. I really am not here to judge anyone that job is up to God. But I do know that God holds us accountable to Him on whether we are growing in Him or whether we are at a standstill with life and not using some of the tools that He has blessed us with over the years to grow in ourselves or help others.

Yet the Lord will command his loving kindness in the day-time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life. Psalm 42:8

Promises That Only God Can Assure Us

God’s love for us never fails. Psalm 103.8

God strengthens us when we are afraid. Isaiah 41:10

God brings good out of bad circumstances. Romans 8:28

God will never leave us or fail us. Hebrews 13:5

Nothing can separate us from God’s love. Romans 8:39

The bible teaches that love is a commitment. As a commitment, love is not dependent on good feelings, but rather on a consistent and courageous decision to extend oneself for the well-being of another. That commitment then produces good feelings, not the other way around. Jesus became the perfect example of God’s unconditional love for us by laying down his life for us.

How can one human being measure God’s love? John 15:13 NLT: And here is how to measure it—the greatest love is shown when people lay down their lives for their friends. What if I don’t want to show love to a stranger on a particular day when I am going through something myself? Suck it up! It is not about what you want it’s about what God’s word says. Being a Christian comes with certain expectations, and one of them is that we will love others. Our Christian conduct is proof as to whether we love each other, and loving each other is proof that we belong to Christ.

Christian also includes a love for our enemies. Matt 5:43-44 NLT: You have heard that the law of Moses says, “Love your neighbor” and hate your enemy. But I say love your enemies! “ Pray for those who persecute you!

Only in Christ’s love can we love our enemies. I know you are asking your selves, is she crazy or what! One of the hardest things we can do is forgive someone who has wronged us. But it is only through experiencing forgiveness that one clearly see God’s great gift of salvation. Your mercy may be just what someone needs to be ushered into God’s Kingdom.

Our Children Are Our Tomorrow

Recently I read a article in our local newspaper about ending the Head Start program. Two of the Commissioners made personal comments during a meeting that the best way for parents to help their children succeed in life is to stay married and stay home with their children. After all both of their wifes sacrifice by not holding jobs outside the home.

The program serves nearly 280 students annually throughout the county and has existed for 39 years. It's ashame to hear pubic officials speak this way and not give the teachers and parents a chance to speak their concern.

Children are the future leaders of our churches and our world. A person's major work for God may have to wait until he is an adult but not one is ever too young to take God seriously and obey him.

They need every avenue open up for them to ensure good health, nutrient, and the best possible education available to them.

Prov 22:6 Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.

Ps 127:3 Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him.

Getting Our House In Order For 2011

Happy New Year to Everybody

I would like to thank all those that made my first year a success and may 2011 be a year that we get our house in order.

In with the new and out with the old. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. It’s a New Year, a new beginning, and time for new goals. You woke up this morning still on this side of Zion refreshed, wide eyed, and bushy tailed. You have another day and/or year to get it right. So what will you do, this year, with your gift of life?

I want you to start just where you are, in your bed, focusing on this past year and the goodness of the Lord and how He has brought you through yet another year. Removing all obstacles from your mind, that are hindering you from moving forward with the life that He has called you too. Just let Him take over your thought process so He can talk to you. You will be amazed at what He will say to you if you just let Him In.

Taking a step back for a minute and asking yourself if 2010 was good to you, good for you, or are you glad it is over? Are there some people, things that you just need to let go of, and let God deal with? Year after year, you just keep getting drained by life issues and you carry them into the next year hoping that things will change. Well, folks it won’t change until you change and give whatever it is up! You cannot change people, you can only change you.

This past year God told me to get my house in order. I think some of my friends thought I was a little crazy when I told them. But I listened to God and started cleaning stuff out of my house that I no longer needed. Giving to family, Goodwill, and throwing out things that just needed to go. I know my sons were glad about this because this was years of stuff. I did not take a vacation, paid off bills, and just stayed in tune to His word to me.

Reset your life and adjust the focus to yourself. What do you want to do for you this year. Stop allowing everybody to dictate to you when they are still stuck themselves.

What goals do you want to accomplish in the short-term, mid-term, and long-term. For example; do you want to finish school, pay off your bills so you can buy a home next year.

Now get up and dance around your room praising God for His love, grace, and mercy over your life and family.

Spread a Little Cheer

The month of December is a special time of year all over the world, where we can unite as one to the glory of God for the birth of his son Jesus.

It is a time to reflect on this pass year and look forward to a better year. For some this may be a new job, new house, a new beginning, or just a sense of peace. This is also the month that becomes so hard for others to deal with because they have lost a love one, had a tough year and wonder what the New Year will bring.

It's a time of joy, laughter, getting together with family and friends in celebration of the holidays. We visit the nursing homes, volunteer, giving to the needy with baskets of food, and gifts for the kids. We help the homeless with hats, coats, and something hot to drank and eat. It's a good time of year to give back even if you have little to give. You can give of yourself.

A time to celebrate the birth of Jesus and what his life and death means to us, "each individually". It's a time to reflect on our country, the goodness of the Lord in directing our path. We need to stay ever so humble, strong in faith, and focus on his will for us all as a world.

Sometimes we miss the boat even with our own families and don't realize it. We all have a pass that we may have grown up with and have passed it on to our own families not seeing the hurt we have created in them. We must deal with our problems so that the next generation does not carry the burden and guilt because they were not able to be loved.

We seem to have no time for each other, blaming it on the job, the bills, the kids, and not feeling well; well guess what, we all have similar issues that we are dealing with. Some of us live so far away that you use that as an excuse not to call or visit. There are a lot of seniors in nursing homes feeling this way about there relatives. Take the time for a phone call, letter or surprise visit. In this economy, we are all broke but make an effort to do something.

I find that even living in the same town we are so busy,"give me a break". We are always playing the blame game with each other. That person doesn't call me or visit me so why should I. Well guess what, "God don't like ugly", and I keep reminding you all of this. Say what you got to say to that person and get it off your chest, so you can move on to a relationship and feel healthy within yourself. This is your life, why be miserable in side. You are right where the devil wants you to be, in his hands and not God's.

God said you are what you speak. But His word also says in Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me". Your ability to cope with life comes from Christ Jesus. He is the one who gives us strength and power to cope with the situations of life.

Pressing toward the Goal: (NLT) Phillippians 3:12-13 I don't means to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection! But I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ Jesus saved me for and wants me to be. "No dear friends, I am still not all I should be, "but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead. "I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus is calling us up to heaven.

Take time this holiday season to reach out to one another because God said to forgive, let go of pass hurts, and love one another. Remember God loves us unconditionally. He showed us that from the cross, when He gave up his only begotten son to set us free.

Can YOU Unfold A Rosebud? Trust God

November 2010

A new minister was walking with an older
more seasoned minister in the garden one day.

Feeling a bit insecure about what God had for him to do,
he was asking the older preacher for some advice. The
older preacher walked up to a rosebush and handed the
young preacher a rosebud and told him to open it without
tearing off any petals.

The young preacher looked in disbelief at the older preacher
and was trying to figure out what a rosebud could possibly
have to do with his wanting to know the will of God for his
life and ministry.

But because of his great respect for the older preacher
he proceeded to try to unfold the rose, while keeping
every petal intact.

It wasn't long before he realized how impossible this was
to do.

Nothing the young preacher's inability to unfold the rosebud without
tearing it, the older preacher began to recite the following poem....

"It is only a tiny rosebud

a flower of God's design.

But I cannot unfold the petals

with these clumsy hands of mine."

"The secret of unfolding flowers

is not known to such as I.

GOD opens this flower so easily,

but in my hands they die."

"If I cannot unfold a rosebud,

this flower of God's design,

then how can I have the wisdom

to unfold this life of mine?"

"So I'll trust in God for leading

each moment of my day.

I will look to God for guidance

in each step of the way."

A Call to Wake Up

Do not go to sleep this coming November. This is a major election year for this country in more ways then one. The Republicans are trying to gain the majority vote and the Democratic are trying to hold on to it.

I am not here to tell you who to vote for but I am here to tell you who not to vote for. If you can see yourselves pass all the rhetoric from the news media, the 6 o'clock news, the "tea party", left wing, far right, moderates and conservatives, this country may have a chance. You have to take a stand for what is right in the form of your voting power.

Pray for our President, pray for the House and Senate, pray for the Governor of your state, the Mayor, and all elected officials. We the people elected them to do a job for all people in this country. Not some of the time, but all of the time. Those that are in charge of our day-to-day pocketbooks need prayer from our Heavenly Father. We go to the mountain top and ask for guidance and direction in time of need. The "Rock" is our strength and our hope in times like this.

In sixty-one years, I have never known a real depression of lose jobs, homes, and separation of families from each other until now. In the last couple of years, reality is real folks, stop being complacent. Poor people have always known "hard times", but by the grace of God through our grandmothers, great grandmothers, and great, great grandmothers praying on there knees we have always continue to move forward. We must continue the fight through voting for the right elected officials, if we are ever to continue to see change for our grandchildren and there children.

Change for better schools, equal schools, and up to date schoolbooks for all our children. Say what you want about Chancellor Rhea, but to find stockpiles of books in school basements is ridiculous. She is cleaning house and we need to do the same with those in power. Those who are in it for themselves, the Lobbyist, Pharmaceutical Firms, and etc. Take a stand and vote this November.

The church has gotten away from our grass roots of voter registration, being involved in politics when Dr. King was alive. It affects all of us.

Too often we complain about our problems to anyone who will listen and praise God only in private. How much better it would be for us to complain privately and to praise God publicly. God pays attention to those who call on him. Whether God offers escape from trouble or help in times of trouble, we can be certain that he always hears and acts on behalf of those who love him.

We fear evil or powerful people because we know they might harm us. We fear God because we know that he has the power to harm us and yet His power to love us is greater.

Psalm 35:18 I will give you thanks in the great assembly; I will praise you among many people. NLT (New Living Translation) Then I will thank you in front of the entire congregation.

Belonging to God require our reverence for God. We reverence God because we have come to know him--his holiness, his love, and his parenting of us, his children. We belong to God. When we approach God, is it in a spirit of reverence?

Heb 2:12 "Saying: "I will declare your name to my brethren; in the midst of the asembly I will sing praise to You."

Faithfulness is praise worthy. When people tell others about you, would they declare that you can be trusted completely, or would they indicate that a person needs to be on guard when around you? The only way we can earn praise for faithfulness is to be faithful.

We can learn to be faithful by meditating on God's faithfulness to us through His word and His actions.

When we are going through, we must continue to pray and worship God. God is the one that can calm the storms in our lives not us God can calm our spirit enough to take our mind off of what was going on around us and fix our thought on heaven above.

Those who have never truly suffered may not appreciate God as much as those who have matured under hardship and trials. Those who have seen God work in times of trouble and stress have a deeper understanding and insight into his loving kindness. If you have experienced great trials, you have the potential for great praise.

As I close, I want you to remember one thing if nothing else, God is the Shepherd; we are His flock. God is the creator, we are His creations. God is the Father, we are His children. When we remember these basic truths life goes a lot smoother for everyone.

Hi Everybody, was the month of July a scorcher? I hope everyone was able to stay cool through it all.

I was recently reflecting on the people who I have meet in the last couple of years. People who have touched my life, as well as, I have touched theirs. People with talents and gifts, encouraging one another to move forward, and not be afraid. The devil is in your mind telling you, "who told you that you are all that", that you can make money with your gift or talent. If God is in the gift, then He will bring it to completion.

Fear is real and natural. It can have us doubting ourselves, not able to sleep or eat. However, God did not give us a gift to sit on and not to be used. Nor is He the author of fear.

Some of us are in our senior years and we tend to feel that we waited so long to pursue a college degree, a business or our God -given talents. Some of us have put our families first and our ambitions on hold for yet another season. We become afraid of stepping out of our comfort zone and experiencing what God has for us. I can also attest to that. We also become afraid of the unknown because we want to see it now and not later. Nevertheless, if God is in it, then it will take hard work on our part, but God will never leave or forsake us through the test of anything that His hand is on.

Peter walked on water until he took his eyes off of Jesus and became afraid. God tells us to do it even if we are afraid. We only grow the right way when we allow God to direct us. Walking with Him is not easy; it is where the rubber meets the road of life that we praise Him anyhow for all He has brought us through.

We need to realize that money cannot save us, doctors cannot save us, not even a job or friend can save us. Jesus yesterday, today, and forever more is the only one who can save us. Christ can dispel fear and reach deep into our dark places. Give us comfort in the midnight hours when we cannot sleep. So when life's issues seem to get the best of you, slow down. "Peace Be Still". God is there to comfort you with His mighty arms. Go into your private space with Him and just rest in His presence. God offers us peace in fearful and difficult times/situations. Give Him your fears and He will give you His peace.

What Does Family Mean To You?

Families were God’s unique idea from the beginning. There is no better place than the family to learn the essential principles of life. We are not given the choice of choosing our own family. That is why the meaning of family becomes necessary for us.

Think about it, we are all born with a family including orphans. Family is made up of people who look after us, who play a vital role in our up bringing and who teach us those lessons in life that will carry us into adulthood. Family has the power and ability to destroy a person through physical and verbal abuse, as well as, neglect and emotional well-being as a child into adulthood, and often times for a lifetime.

The people we call Big Momma, Little Momma, Nana, Aunt Ginny, and Aunt Boo Boo and Lovely were the back bone of our family and taught us the basics to live by on this journey called life.

How does the Bible define family?

Genesis 2:24 - This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.

Ephesians 2:19 - You are members of God’s family.

Psalm 127:3 - Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him. (Children are a wonderful blessing.)

What is your responsibility to your family?

Proverbs 22:6 - Teach your children to choose the right path, and when they are older, they will remain upon it. (To give them spiritual training and explain the gospel of Jesus to them.)

Proverbs 29:15 - To discipline and reprimand a child produces wisdom, but a mother is disgraced by an undisciplined child. (Neglecting to teach your children spiritual truths and neglecting discipline have tragic consequences.)

Celebrating as a family is a way to praise and thank God.

Deuteronomy 12:7 - There you and your families will feast in the presence of the Lord your God, and you will rejoice in all you have accomplished because He has blessed you. (Family celebrations are an effective way to bond family members to each other and to God.)

Recently, my family and I got together at a near by park for some good old fun, relaxation, lots of laughter and plenty of crabs to eat. In addition, from this event, we have vowed to find the time in our busy schedules to have a family night once a month.

Also, if you have not been to your family gravesites to clean them off and put flowers on them, please do so. (I visit every Memorial Day.) Let them know that the family is still carrying on what they were taught and how everybody is doing. It is OK!

Gossip and the Hidden Agenda

Does it ever occur to you, that when we say negative things about our Brothers and Sisters, just how much of an impact words can have.

Gossip can go under other names--backbiting, slander, rumors, hearsay, tale-telling. At its best, gossip whispers doubt, repeats questionable information, turns the light on another person a few degrees to the left, or suggests wrongdoing without facts to backup the suggestion. Gossip is a sin, for it depreciates a person, often trying to make someone else look bad so you or I can look good. God hates gossip. We should too.

Why is gossip so bad?

     Leviticus 19:16 - Do not spread slanderous gossip among your people.

God specifically forbids gossip.

     Proverbs 11: 13 - A gossip goes around revealing secrets, but those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence.

Gossip makes poor friends. Stay away from them. Gossip and trustworthy people work opposite ends of the human spectrum. Trustworthy people build you up.

How do I stop gossip?

             Proverbs 26:20 - Fire goes out for lack of fuel, and quarrels disappear when gossip stops.

Stop the chain of gossip with you! When you hear gossip, you can do something about it. You can decide not to spread it any further. Stop the fires of gossip from spreading beyond you.

                Matthew 7:12 - Do for others what you would like them to do for you.

The Golden Rule can also be applied to our speech - "Talk about others in the same way you would like them to talk about you."

Since "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Roman 3:23) Christians are called to love, forgive and spread positive information rather than evil gossip that destroy relationships.

If you think you are about to gossip, ask yourself, ""Does the person I'm talking to need to know this? Is it true, accurate, and helpful?"

Mother's Are Special

Some days are better then others, when you miss that special someone.

Bringing back all the special memories, you think about with her.

Remembering how she wiped away the tears and made it all better.

Or just sitting on the park bench sharing time with each other.

She took the time from her heckled life for just you and her,

teaching you the basic of survival, as only she knew how.

She knew just what to say to you, when life seem far away.

Encouraging you to believe in your self and do your very best.

She is missed this Mother 's Day in more ways then one.

But I know she is looking down on me and is proud of what I have become.

So until we meet again at God's pearly gates,

I'll continue to think of that special lady who made me what I am.

Happy Resurrection Sunday Everybody

During this holy time let us as Christians remember the real earth chattering events, leading up to the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The true sacrifical lamb, and the pain in his heart of knowing that all this had to happen.

God orchestrated all of this, allowing his only son to die for us, so we could be set free from our sins. We can only imagine the pain and suffering that Jesus had to endure at the cross for you and me. It was a tremendous sacrifice, knowing the world's sins was on his shoulders and what he was about to face.

Every Easter we get together with family and friends to celebrate this special time of year. We go to church wearing our new bonnet and new outfits for all to see. We hide the Easter eggs and have all the baskets filled with all kinds of treats to enjoy. In addition, we even prepare a lavish dinner or go out to a nice restaurant.

Don't get me wrong, this is all good, but let us never forget the true reason, that Jesus Christ died on Calvary for all of us, so our lives would be made whole by His blood.

Not just a mere feeling but let this experience on Easter sunday pull at your heartstring to become a better person to your family. To give your life to the Lord totally, and if you are not in church then make a commitment today to do so. Developing a relationship with the Father is the best thing you could ever do.

It was Jesus who redeemed the whole world at the cross, ask him to help you to carry your cross today.

Do you know how to pray to God? Do you understand just how easy it is to talk to Him at anytime of the day or night and not just when there is a crisis? Over the years, I have grown so much, in just building a relationship with Him, right where I am. Prayer is communicating with God by standing, bowing down, kneeling, falling on your face or lifting up your hands to Him. (Psl 27:8, Psl 62:8, Psl 73:28, Lam 3:41, & Heb 10:22) Basically, prayer occurs when you talk to God and God talks to you. God does listen to our hurts and pains, to our joys and triumphs no matter where our relationship with Him is.

God wants a relationship with us though, He wants to laugh with us when we make a boo boo. He will also hold us in those moments of desperation when we need His understanding about life's hardships. And yes, He will also correct us when we are out of order. "The world won't get any better if we just let it be". We have to make some better choices with our lives. We must stand up for what is right, even if it is not popular to society or even to our love ones.

Spring is in the air! A time to do some spring cleaning in the house and with ourselves. Get rid of the cobwebs in your life, things that are holding you down and hindering your next step in your journey. We are now in month three, where are you in your journal and on to your next level in the Lord?

Hi Everybody,

Can you believe all this snow we have gotten so far this winter. God is real even in the mist of the moutains of snow. We are bonding with our families, our neighbors, and friends. Checking on everybody's safety, as God would have us to do.

We are digging out, over eating, and just enjoying some good old r&r that we all need. Yes, the bills still are rolling in, some of us are still looking for work, but we serve a God that is still on the job doing what needs to be done behind the scenes.

So for the moment forget about your troubles. Shout the victory with praise, stand tall with thanksgiving and dance with your arms wide open giving HIM the glory because he is listening.

AMEN! AMEN!

Starting Right Where You Are

A warm welcome to my blog where Jesus Christ is praised, honored, and adored. Do you ever wonder what God wants you to do with the rest of your life or why you where created at this particular time and place?

In the quietness of your mind, just for a moment reflect on this pass year, your accomplishments, the trials and tribulations that God has brought you through. Reflecting on His grace and mercy over the years.

Keep a journal this coming year and allow Jesus Christ to direct your path and see his goodness at work in your life. Share your journey with others and encourage there spirit. This blog is for all that love the Lord and want a closer walk with Him through up lifting words of encouragement, laughter, and joy.
